The Death of Osama Bin Laden and the Hindu Civilization's Role in the Clash of Civilizations
Though the happy news is that Osama Bin Laden is dead, killed yesterday near Islamabad, Pakistan, in a U.S. raid involving naval commandos and CIA paramilitary forces, the unhappy news is that his death has likely upped the ante in the civilizational clash between the West and Islam. The West, led by America, has shown that it can still accomplish any military expedition it may so wish. It has the finances, technology, expertise, and determination still to protect, uphold, and promote its values.
New Chief Editor for Dialectical Spiritualism Book Project
The Samprajña Institute is honored to announce that Dr. Yvette Claire Rosser has assumed the role of chief editor for the Institute’s Dialectical Spiritualism book project, which will present a critique of Marxism from the point of view of the Vedic tradition. The book's critiques will cover four areas: Pre-Marxist philosophy, Classical Marxism, 20th century Marxism, and Maoism. The book will also offer a fifth section that that presents practical alternatives to Marxism.

Devotee Scholars attend Cosmology Conference

A “Global Conference on Cosmologies - Perspectives of the Universe” took place from December 2-4, 2010, at Bangalore The conference was organized by the Srinivas Jyotish Vigyan Research Foundation, founded and headed by Sri Dev Nath Acharya, and headquartered at Srirangam, Tamil Nadu.
The conference venue was the auditorium of the National Institute of Advanced Studies (NIAS), located on the campus of the famed Indian Institute of Science, established more than a century ago.
ISKCON of Houston at the HMEC Conference
This is a press note from the ISKCON mandir of Houston on their participation in the HMEC Conference, 2010:
The fifth annual HMEC (Hindu Mandir Executive Conference) took place in Houston this past October 22-24, 2010. This event is only hosted here once every 5 years with different cities taking turns around the country. HMEC represents more than 600 mandirs (temples) throughout North America and its purpose is to address the future of Hindus, Hindu mandirs, and Hindu organizations. H. G. Krishna Kirti Dasa, president of the Samprajna Institute (http://samprajna.org), a Vaisnava think tank, was instrumental in helping organize the speakers for the conference.

HMEC Conference 2010, Dialectical Spiritualism Project, and Chairman Basu Ghosh Das's USA Visit
HMEC Conference
The Samprajña Institute was represented at the Hindu Mandir Executives Conference, 2010, by president Krishna Kirti Das. The conference was held on a weekend from October 22 – 24 in Houston, Texas at the Sheraton Hotel near the George Bush International Airport. Krishna Kirti along with Divya Selvakumar of the American World Hindu Services co-chaired a panel discussion titled Hindu Public Policy.
